Grading for the new sidewalk from the MARTA Bus Shelter near Woodruff Circle and extending up to WHSCAB was completed. Sections of the new sidewalk have been poured and all of the new curb and gutter is in place. Grading for the rest of the sidewalk is underway and the contractor will continue to pour sections of concrete sidewalk up toward Eagle Row.
On Saturday asphalt paving will be placed connecting the edge of Clifton Road to the new curb and gutter.
Work on a new catch basin and a connecting storm line is underway in front of Thomas Hall. This work will be completed this week.
Erosion control silt fence is installed near the Business School in advance of upcoming work associated with the right turn lane.
July 18th thru July 22nd , 2016
Next week work will continue extending the sidewalk near WHSCAB, up towards Eagle Row.
There is potential for grading operations to begin adjacent to the Business School, pending weather and progress of work near WHSCAB.
Next weekend the sidewalk in front of Thomas Hall will be demolished and poured back. This work is being coordinated with the J Wing Bridge crew. Materials and crews working on this sidewalk will stage on Fishburne Drive to avoid interference with the crews working on the bridge on Clifton Road.
Important Items/Changes to Note
There will be significant traffic impacts next week and through next weekend. Please take note of the message boards, signs and police officers that will be in place helping to direct traffic.
A temporary sidewalk will be built in advance of the construction of the right turn lane that will be constructed on Clifton Road at the intersection of N Decatur Road. The temporary sidewalk will be similar to what is in place near WHSCAB. Please see the attached temp sidewalk plan (PDF) for this section of Clifton Road.
