The construction crews had another productive week. The focus was to ensure we were ready for student move-in weekend.
With this in mind work in front of Thomas Hall was completed, which included roadway repairs that took place last weekend.
All of the concrete blocks have been placed for the retaining wall at the corner of Clifton Road and N. Decatur Road.
Light pole bases also continue to be installed and we are approximately 50% complete on the west side of Clifton Road.
We will begin the installation of erosion control measures near the School of Law in preparation of moving to that side of Clifton Road next week.
Cleanup will continue in advance of student move-in weekend August 20th & 21st.
No work will take place this weekend.
August 22nd thru August 26th, 2016
Fall Semester 2016 Starts!
The crew working on the retaining wall will begin installing the granite cladding material.
Light pole bases will be installed adjacent to the Goizueta Business School.
The demo and grading crew will begin their work to remove sidewalks adjacent to the School of Law along Clifton Road.
Important Items/Changes to Note
Please note the pedestrian detour plan near the School of Law:
- Pedestrians traveling West on N Decatur Road (towards Clifton Road) and whose final destination is on Clifton Road (Goizueta Business School, Emory University Hospital, the Clinics, School of Medicine, WHSCAB or CHOA) should take the temporary sidewalk detouring them toward the front of Gambrell Hall and around the west side of the building.
- Pedestrians who are continuing along N. Decatur Road towards Emory Village will remain on the current sidewalk.
- Wayfinding signage will be in place to help direct people to take the correct route.
