August 1st thru August 6th, 2016
Crews are working at multiple locations on the west side of Clifton Road from WHSCAB down to Harris Hall and past the Goizueta Business School.
The front concrete apron at WHSCAB has been poured and the remaining sections of sidewalk will be poured by the end of the week.
The first delivery of light pole bases also arrived on site this week. Hydro-vac excavation measures are being used to dig the holes for the light pole bases. This method is best suited for this operation as it produces a precise hole and if any unknown underground systems are uncovered they are not damaged. Three pole bases today have been installed.
Further South along Clifton work is proceeding to install storm water catch basins (two at EUH and three near Thomas/Harris Halls). Completing this task will allow new curb and gutter to be installed at Thomas/Harris Halls. Crews are also working to complete the sidewalk work in front of Thomas/Harris Hall prior to student move in weekend on August 20th.
Finally, the largest excavation activity to date has commenced in near N Decatur Road as crews have begun the excavation work for the right turn lane that is being added from Clifton Road onto N Decatur Road. Prior to the start of the excavation root and limb pruning was performed on several of the old growth trees by an arborist.
August 7th thru August 13th, 2016
Next week crews will be cleaning up the landscaped areas adjacent to WHSCAB in preparation for placing new topsoil and installing new irrigation systems.
Emphasis will be placed on the concrete work in front of Thomas/Harris Halls in order to complete the work by August 20th. So please take note of the wayfinding signage that will be in place to help you navigate this area.
Work on the right turn lane will continue and in addition and work will begin on the concrete footing for the retaining wall.
Crews will also complete the demolition of the sidewalk adjacent to the Goizueta Business School
Important Items/Changes to Note

General Safety Note
Please be aware of the construction fencing we have set up throughout the Clifton Road Corridor. The fence panels are in place to keep you a safe distance from the construction zone. As you are walking by these areas, we ask that you pay special attention to your surroundings and if possible try to stay off your cell phones so that you are able to pay attention to detour signs.
